How to Deliver Heavy Trucks to Africa

Selling heavy trucks to Africa or Middle Eastern countries begins with a photo. The foreign buyer agrees on the equipment and price, and TIRkomis organises the entire route: from the lot in Rivne to the European port and destination country.

The seller must provide information about the vehicle, deregister it for border crossing, and bring it to Rivne. The buyer pays the commission and delivery, and settlement with the seller is done on site.

What's in demand

Export is most suitable for old heavy trucks that still have working life left but sell slowly in Ukraine. Foreign buyers value simple construction, serviceability, and parts availability.

Among regular requests:

  • Renault Magnum Euro 2 and Euro 3, as well as Renault Premium;
  • DAF XF and CF standards Euro 2, Euro 3 and some Euro 5 models;
  • MAN TGA and Comandor;
  • Mercedes-Benz Actros and Axor before 2014;

[Prices are determined individually, in particular depending on the specific model, condition and buyer country](https://tirkomis.com/blog/prodazh-na-afryku-jak-vygidno-prodaty-staru-vantazhnu-tehniku)

Requirements for age, environmental standard and technical condition vary depending on the country, as confirmed by UNECE research on the export of used vehicles. Therefore, any old heavy truck should be sent for evaluation, even if it is not on the list.

Photos, specifications and vehicle assessment

For preliminary assessment, the owner sends:

  • photographs of the equipment from all sides;
  • photos of the VIN, vehicle registration certificate, frame, cabin, engine and tyres;
  • engine, gearbox, environmental standard and wheel formula data;
  • description of technical condition and known faults;
  • engine startup video.

This information is transmitted to potential buyers. Usually within a day, the manager informs whether there is demand and what preliminary amount they are willing to offer. If there is no specific buyer yet, the equipment can be presented through online sales at TIRkomis in Ukraine, or TIRkomis Africa Telegram channel, where subscribers are representatives of buyers from Africa and Middle Eastern countries. Until an offer is agreed upon, the equipment may remain with the owner and continue to operate.

Equipment handover and settlement with the seller

When a foreign buyer confirms the equipment, price and terms of the deal, the seller agrees with the manager on a date to come to Rivne.

Before handover, you need to:

  • prepare originals of registration documents;
  • deregister the vehicle for export;
  • bring the equipment to the TIRkomis site in Rivne, or use the driver service provided by the site.

When deregistering a vehicle, standard registration plates are returned, and the owner is issued documents and registration plates for one-off trips. Immediately upon arrival of the equipment at the site, the following are checked: VIN, documents, completeness and correspondence of the actual condition to the information provided. After successful inspection, the seller receives the agreed amount on the spot.

For the seller, the following conditions apply: the commission is paid by the foreign buyer, and TIRkomis handles all logistics matters.

Delivery from Rivne to the buyer

After purchase, the equipment is loaded onto a trailer, secured and transported from Rivne to one of the European ports. The route and port are selected taking into account the destination country and buyer's wishes. When the vessel arrives at the destination port, the buyer or their representative goes through import procedures and collects the equipment.

To ensure regular delivery, TIRkomis invites trailer owners who transport commercial vehicles from Ukraine to European ports to enter into permanent cooperation. To offer services, you need to provide information about the platform type, load capacity, permissible dimensions, available routes and transportation dates at the number: +380 97 102 65 65.

What the buyer receives

Before the agreement is concluded, the buyer receives photos, videos, VIN, specifications and information about known defects of the equipment. This allows for a preliminary assessment of its condition without a personal trip to Ukraine.

The buyer agrees on the cost of the equipment, pays the commission and logistics, and also completes the import formalities in their country. TIRkomis coordinates the Ukrainian part of the agreement and the route to the agreed destination port. As a result, the buyer does not need to separately search for a seller, trailer owner, or port partner.
