How to list commercial equipment on a consignment lot

To consign a tractor unit, truck, semi-trailer, bus, or special equipment, you need to provide information about the vehicle, agree on the price and sale terms, and deliver the equipment to the TIRkomis lot in Rivne.
TIRkomis managers prepare listings, advertise the equipment, communicate with buyers, and organize viewings. The owner controls the price and approves each offer to negotiate.
Parking space and advertising are free until the equipment is sold. Commission is paid only after the sale.
Get a preliminary valuation
You need to bring the equipment to the lot in Rivne and provide the manager with key information:
- vehicle type, make and model;
- year of manufacture and VIN;
- mileage or operating hours;
- specification;
- technical condition and known defects;
- VAT information;
Based on this data, the manager analyzes similar listings, demand, and technical condition. The owner can independently check current prices in the TIRkomis catalog or use recommendations on valuing commercial equipment before sale.
You can also list equipment for sale online through the website.
Agree on price, negotiation terms, and commission
The owner sets the price. TIRkomis managers recommend market value, but cannot independently reduce the agreed price. The parties determine a starting price and possible negotiation limits. When a buyer offers a specific price, the manager separately agrees it with the owner.
The TIRkomis commission depends on the value of the sold equipment:
| Sale Price of Equipment | TIRkomis Commission |
|---|---|
| Up to $20,000 | $500 per unit |
| From $20,000 inclusive | 3% of the sale amount |
For example, after selling a tractor unit for $15,000, the commission will be $500. If the equipment is sold for $30,000 — $900.
All terms are fixed in the agreement. In accordance with Chapter 69 of the Civil Code of Ukraine, the commission agent conducts the transaction in their own name, but at the expense of the equipment owner.
The agreement between TIRkomis and the equipment owner specifies:
- the agreed price and bidding procedure;
- the amount and timing of commission payment;
- storage, viewing and equipment return conditions;
- liability in case of loss or damage;
- a list of documents, keys and equipment transferred.
Document preparation and equipment transfer
The list of documents depends on the owner's status and the type of equipment. Usually you need to prepare:
certificate of vehicle registration; owner's documents; documents of the representative and confirmation of their authority – if the equipment is transferred by someone other than the owner; registration and accounting documents of the enterprise – for a legal entity; a valuation document – in cases provided for by law.
If an individual transfers a truck, bus or trailer to a trading organization, a vehicle valuation document is required.
When equipment is accepted at the TIRkomis lot:
- records the VIN, mileage and technical condition;
- notes the configuration and visible damage;
- accepts the agreed set of keys and documents;
- signs a commission agreement with the owner.
It is important that the documents indicate any additional equipment, the number of keys, the condition of the tyres, cab, frame and main assemblies.
TIRkomis launches advertising and seeks a buyer
After acceptance, the manager creates a vehicle card: prepares a description, verifies specifications, adds photos and publishes the offer in the catalog.
The vehicle is advertised through TIRkomis information channels, social networks, partner platforms and a direct buyer database. New offers can also be viewed in the TIRkomis Telegram channel.
Managers:
- respond to calls and messages;
- provide buyers with specifications and photos/videos;
- organize viewings;
- collect specific price offers;
- coordinate possible negotiations with the owner.
The owner does not need to independently create listings, pay for advertising, constantly respond to calls and meet each potential buyer. More details on the advantages of this format are explained in the article on commission sales of commercial vehicles.
Sale and transfer of funds
When the buyer is ready to purchase the vehicle, they conduct a viewing or inspection. If negotiations arise, the manager passes the offer to the owner. The final price does not change without their consent.
After agreeing on the price, the parties proceed to complete the sale. In Ukraine, the vehicle is re-registered to the new owner. There is no need to deregister it in advance for a standard domestic sale.
The owner receives funds only after the vehicle has been re-registered to the buyer. Payment is not made until the official registration of the transport unit to the new owner. This procedure protects both parties and confirms that the transaction has been legally completed.
If used commercial vehicles are sold to a non-resident in Africa or the Middle East, they are deregistered for export. Documents, delivery to the port, export procedures and route are coordinated separately.
Upon completion of the re-registration, the owner receives the agreed amount, and TIRkomis receives a commission according to the contract terms. The payment period and method are also fixed in advance in the contract. Tax obligations depend on the type of equipment, seller status and number of transactions throughout the year.
